Meet Our Board of Directors
Lynn Coyle, President
Lynn Coyle is the President of Child Find PEI and is a Case Worker. She joined Child Find 16 years ago and has been actively involved ever since. Lynn became a Board Member in 1992, and was Secretary from 1993-1995. During that time the title changed to Secretary-Treasurer, which she did for another 2-3 years. From 1999-2001 Lynn held the position of Vice-President, and became President in 2002, a position that she has held since that time.
Throughout the years she has participated in fingerprinting clinics, helped with the Twins Fashion Show fundraiser on more than one occasion, the Snowmobile Poker Run fundraiser, and helped develop and implement the School Essay Contest, for which she was also a judge for 5 years. She was the Coordinator for a major fundraiser which consisted of a dance ensemble coming to PEI from the United States and performing at the Confederation Center of the Arts..
She is currently sitting on the Provincial Policy and Advocacy committees, is a board member of Child Find Canada where she also sits on the National Governance and Advocacy Committees.
She previously volunteered for many years with Girl Guides of Canada
and her community Soccer Club.
Lynn is a Public Servant, having been employed with the RCMP in various capacities for the past thirty-seven years. She and her husband Don have two children, Meghan who is 21, and Joshua who is 27.
Kay Lidstone, Vice President
Kay Lidstone serves as Vice President of Child Find PEI, and recent Past President of Child Find Canada. She became a board member in 1998 and since that time has been Secretary, Case Worker and became Vice-President in 2002. She has also volunteered with fingerprint clinics, fundraising, and various other programs of Child Find PEI. She sits on several committees at both the national and provincial levels; is the chair of the Policy Committee, Advocacy Committee and co-chair of the Case Management Consultative Committee. Kay is a member of the Ethics Committee of the Association of Missing and Exploited Children’s Organization (AMECO) and has volunteered to be a member of the Case Management Committee of that organization. She has also volunteered with Girl Guides of Canada and several other organizations such as Special Olympics, Home and School, New London Tourist Association and Police Curling.
Kay was formerly a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
and had worked in several capacities for approximately twenty-two
years. She was a General Duty Police Officer and a dedicated Sexual
Abuse Investigator involving children. Through this work she gained
a great deal of experience dealing with youth at risk and runaways.
In her capacity as police officer, Kay was a liaison for schools,
seniors’ facilities and represented the RCMP on inter-agency
committees.
In 2004 Kay accepted a work term with the Nova Scotia Office of the Ombudsman as a senior investigator. This organization investigates complaints and concerns against Provincial and Municipal Government. Kay works in the Youth & Senior Services Section and deals with youth at risk, runaways, and as well youth who are in the care and custody of the Province.
In February 2008 Kay will begin an eight week secondment opportunity with the Department of Health for the Province of Nova Scotia. During this work term Kay will be providing mentorship to staff investigating abuse in seniors’ long-term care facilities.
Kay and her husband Brian, although living temporarily in Halifax,
have retained a home in Long River, PEI. Kay and Brian have five
children and five grandchildren.
Janie Doyle, Treasurer
Janie Doyle is a Director who originally joined Child Find PEI in 1998. While with Child Find she was a Board Member, Treasurer and has served on various committees. She has volunteered at fingerprinting clinics, Green Ribbon of Hope Campaigns and helped judge essay contests. Janie retired from Child Find PEI in 2002 and returned in February 2007. She has since become a Board Member. She took over the position of Treasurer in 2008 and she is a member of the Fundraising committee. She has held positions in other organizations such as board member for the Charlottetown Kiwanis Club, Director of Union of Public Sector Employees and Secretary for the Sponsoring committee for #60 Air Cadet Squadron. She has volunteered with the QEH, Beach Grove Home and Tourism Charlottetown for the Festival of Lights, Shellfish Festival and Jack Frost Festival. Janie graduated from UPEI in 1994. She worked for the provincial government for 31 years and retired from public service in 2002. She and her husband Joe live in Sherwood. They have three children and three grandchildren.
Nicole Pugh, Secretary
Nicole Pugh is the Secretary of Child Find PEI. She became a Child Find board member in November, 2005. In the spring of 2003, she joined the Amber Alert Task Force committee and has been working to help keep Amber Alert active on Prince Edward Island. Nicole graduated from Holland College with an Office Administration diploma and has been working for Maritime Broadcasting Systems with CFCY/Magic 93/SPUD FM for the past 18 years. She looks forward to helping bring the Child Find message to each and every home on Prince Edward Island. Nicole lives in Winsloe with her three daughters: Kayla, Shae-Lynn, and Gracie.
Lisa Cooper, Director
Lisa is a Director with Child Find PEI. Lisa has been an active Volunteer with Child Find PEI for the past five years and has been the Education Coordinator for two years now. Lisa brings with her experience in proposal writing, coordinating and evaluating projects, community development and budgeting. Lisa’s work experience includes developing the PEI Aboriginal Justice Program, self-employment as an Aboriginal Consultant for the different Aboriginal organizations on PEI, Development Coordinator for the Native Council of PEI, and CFPEI’s Project Coordinator for the Teen Runaway Project. Lisa’s portfolio as Education Coordinator includes overseeing the Kids in the Know and Teen Runaway programs. Lisa has three boys and is currently enrolled in UPEI for her final year of study in the Bachelor of Education Program.
Kathy Coughlin, Director
Kathy Coughlin is a Director and the Volunteer Coordinator for Child Find PEI. She originally joined Child Find as a volunteer in 2005. Kathy has been a substitute bus driver with Charlottetown Rural since 2002. She looks forward to becoming a full-time bus driver. After graduating from grade 12, she took several courses and now has Floral Designer, Interior Decorator and Teachers Aide Diplomas. Kathy has 2 boys; Devan and James.
Rob Coughlin, Director
Rob Coughlin is a Director and Co-chair of the Fundraising Committee for Child Find PEI. He has been a bus driver for the last 6 years with Charlottetown Rural where for the past 2 1/2 years he held the position of Vice President of the local School Bus Drivers union. Rob is also a chef and has been one for the last 20 years. He currently works at the Brits Fish & Chips Restaurant. Rob has been a volunteer with Child Find PEI on and off for the past five years. He is married to Kathy Jarvis.
Doreen Wall, Director
Doreen Wall has been a volunteer for Child Find PEI since February of 2007. She was an employee of the Eastern School Board for 30 years and although she has retired, she still returns to work at an on-call basis. Doreen’s background includes 10 yeas as the President of the Canadian Union of Public, sitting on the Board for the United Way for six years, and serving as the Treasurer and the Secretary of the PEI Federation of Home and School where she was awarded the Lifetime Membership. Doreen has been a member of Girl Guides Canada for 30 years and is an EMO with the PEI Red Cross. Doreen is currently representing the Retirees of Trade Union Members of PEI and working at establishing a local group. Doreen is the mother of four daughters, the step-mother of eight children, the proud grandmother of 24 children and the great-grandmother of two.
Grace Kimpinski, Executive Director
Grace became Child Find PEI’s Executive Director in January 2008. After graduating from UPEI with first-class standings, she pursued her Master’s of Arts degree from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Grace was joined Child Find PEI as the Education Coordinator Assistant, working in-depth our Kids in the Know personal safety education program to help facilitate its launch on the Island.
Grace is a motivated, personable professional with over ten years of successful marketing experience. She has a demonstrated history of completing challenging projects within budget and on time. Grace is a practiced public speaker with an ability to connect with a diverse audience, and she has a proven track record of developing successful fund-raising initiatives.
Grace has volunteered as a the Communications Officer for the ‘Committee for Action’ in Evergreen Estates in Sudbury; she was an Event Planner for the Sudbury Women’s Centre, where she organized a fundraising event “Laughter on the Rocks”; and she was a Team Co-Leader with Junior Achievement where she and her partners were awarded the “Leaders of the Year”. Grace lives with her son and her partner in Charlottetown.
Lori St. Onge, Case Manager
Lori St. Onge is the Aboriginal Justice Coordinator for the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI’s Aboriginal Justice Program. She is a Band member of the Lennox Island First Nation. Lori graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Public Administration. She received a Certificate in Human Resource Management the following year from Holland College.
Lori was the Executive Director and case worker for Child Find PEI from 2002-2007. In 2002, Lori played a key roll in implementing the PEI Amber Missing Child Alert, a tool used by law enforcement for the safe recover of a missing child. Lori was selected to participate on a working group by the United States Department of Justice to assist in the creation of a sibling guide for siblings of abducted children and a publication for children who have been abducted and returned home. In 2007, Lori received the Joan Taavon Award; an international award for her extraordinary commitment to missing and exploited children.
Lori has extensive experience working in the non-profit industry and brings to the Aboriginal Justice Program strong organizational skills that will allow her to contribute to Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI. She has a great working relationship with law enforcement and works closely with the provincial and federal governments. She believes strongly in working together to build a stronger future for Aboriginal people and looks forward to the challenges the program has to offer.
